§ Mr. WhitneyThe report by Mr. T. E. Nodder was an internal document. The new chief scientist, when appointed, will be asked to consider Mr. Nodder's report. We hope to announce conclusions on the future of research management arrangements in DHSS in the light of advice from the chief scientist.
§ Mr. Dobsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what steps his Department has taken to reappraise its research management structure, as stated in paragraph 97 of the Government response to the second report from the Social Services Committee, 1984–85 Session, Cmnd. 9674.
§ Mr. WhitneyThe process of reappraising the Department's research management structure is continuing. The final outcome will be decided after a new chief scientist has been appointed.
