§ Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will give a general direction to the electricity boards to reduce their prices to consumers in view of the fall in their fuel costs; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerReductions in fuel prices automatically reduce the monthly bills of industrial and commercial customers. The Central Electricity Generating Board and the National Coal Board are discussing coal prices in the light of their assessment of the present uncertain oil market. They are seeking to reach a commercial agreement which will enable this changed market situation to he suitably reflected in the price that the CEGB pays for NCB coal. The intention of the electricity supply industry is that all customers, including domestic customers, should benefit.
