Mr. Leadbitterasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will detail all measures which have been taken against Libya on the grounds that it has supplied the Irish Republican Army with arms; and what evidence he has of links between the Irish Republican Army and other Arab countries and Arab terrorist organisations.
§ Mr. RentonMy right hon. Friend the Prime Minister described the measures we have taken against Libya in her replies to my hon. Friend the Member for Glanford and Scunthorpe (Mr. Hickmet) on 24 April. We are aware of speculation about Provisional IRA links with other organisations and countries. Naturally we keep a close eye on this, but it would not be in the public's interest to go into detail.
