§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will seek to visit the Netherlands during European Road Safety Year, to consider the ways in which it has improved both the traffic safety and environment of large residential areas; and whether he will pursue an experimental project in the United Kingdom aimed at achieving these goals.
§ Mr. Peter BottomleyYes. The Urban safety project, being implemented in Bradford, Bristol, Nelson, Reading and Sheffield is designed to achieve similar goals in a United Kingdom context.
