§ Mr. Giles ShawI understand from the Commissioner that under the powers conferred by section 52 of the Metropolitan Police Act 1839 barriers have been erected and pedestrian and vehicular access diverted at the following locations within the borough of Tower Hamlets on a number of occasions since 25 January 1986:

- Wapping lane/Highway
- Garnett street/Highway
- Glamis road/Highway
- Virginia street/Highway
- Breezes hill/Highway
- Artichoke hill/Highway
- Chigwell hill/Highway
