§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Environment why he has refused the Greater London council consent to release £8 million to the Greater London Enterprise Board; if he has sought to meet board representatives; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. TraceyMy right hon. Friend was not satisfied that further expenditure in support of the Greater London Enterprise Board's activities at the expense of London ratepayers as a whole would be expedient.
Prior to reaching that decision a meeting was held with representatives of the Greater London council, the Greater London Enterprise Board and the London boroughs that are taking up membership of the Board.
