§ Mr. HayhoeThe number of notifications of legal abortions carried out under the Abortion Act 1967 from 27 April 1968 to 31 December 1984 in England and Wales is 2,288,255. The provisional number for 1985, including notifications received by the end of February 1986, is 171,580, giving a provisional total to the present date of 2,459,835.
