HC Deb 26 March 1986 vol 94 c525W
Mr. Bell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he intends to take any legal action against Northern Ireland councillors who have refused to strike a rate.

Mr. Needham

It will be for the local government auditor in each of the district council areas in question to consider what action, if any, should be taken.

Mr. Bell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what information he has on how much revenue has been lost due to the failure of various Northern Ireland councils to strike a rate.

Mr. Needham

As the rate to be struck is for the financial year 1986–87 no revenue has as yet been lost.
