HC Deb 26 March 1986 vol 94 cc468-9W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what information he has as to the total number of police employed on traffic duties in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1985 in (a) the south-east, (b) the east midlands and (c) the west midlands.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The following estimated numbers of police officers were allocated to specialised traffic divisions in these regions from 1982 to 1985. Comparable information for 1981 is not readily available centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
