asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prisoners were (a) two to a cell and (b) three to a cell on the most recent convenient date.

On 9 February there were 12,854 males and 292 females held two to a cell and 4,002 males and no females held three to a cell in prison custody in England and Wales.
