HC Deb 21 March 1986 vol 94 cc320-1W
Mr. Tom Cox

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what complaints he has received about alleged failures by the Camping and Caravanning Club to consult the local authority concerned before issuing a certificate under paragraph 5 of the first schedule to the Caravan Sites and Control of Development Act 1960; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Rumbold

I have received one complaint of this nature.

Although there is no statutory requirement upon the Camping and Caravanning Club to consult the relevant local planning authority before issuing certificates under paragraph 5 of the first schedule to the 1960 Act, I understand that in practice it invariably does so and that it had in fact notified the district council in the case in question.
