HC Deb 18 March 1986 vol 94 c113W
Q119. Mr. Wigley

asked the Prime Minister if she will meet leaders of the main disablement organisations to discuss proposals for further legislation to safeguard the interests of disabled people; and if she will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

My ministerial colleagues meet leaders of the main disablement organisations from time to time, and indeed my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services did so yesterday, to discuss the Social Security Bill which is at present before Parliament. We are always happy to consider any suggestions, on legislation or other matters, which they put forward, but I do not believe a further meeting is now necessary.
