asked the Paymaster General what plans he has for implementing a work test as recommended in the Beveridge report.

The measures proposed in the 1942 Beveridge report would require considerable resources and I am not convinced they would be either cost-effective or practicable. We are currently reviewing the availability test for unemployed claimants so as to ensure that abuse is properly identified and dealt with.
