Road deaths: January-September: 1981–1985: Great Britain Number 1981 4,235 1982 4,288 1983 3,912 1984 3,975 1985 *3,600 * Provisional Road deaths for January-September 1985 were respectively 11 per cent. and 9 per cent. fewer than in the corresponding periods of 1984 and 1983. 1983 was the lowest year for road deaths since 1956.
