§ Mr. Fatchettasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if his Department has any plans to carry out studies of crime levels in the inner city.
§ Mr. Giles ShawPolice forces regularly collate, and publish in the chief constable's annual report, information on notifiable offences recorded in their police force area. Summary national figures are also published regularly (for example in "Notifiable Offences Recorded by the Police in England and Wales, 1985", Home Office Statistical Bulletin 4/86, published 13 March). Some information on inner-city crime can also be drawn from the British crime survey (see for example Home Office research studies Nos. 81 and 85.)
