HC Deb 25 June 1986 vol 100 c231W
63. Mr. Gerald Howarth

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with progress being made in the approval of reinstatement schemes for houses designated under the Housing Defects Act 1984; and if he will make a statement.

Sir George Young

Yes; I am pleased with the recent progress made by the National House Building Council in approving repair methods. Its subsidiary company, PRC Homes Ltd, has just approved one for Orlit houses; this is in addition to the 14 repair systems already approved, covering the Airey, Cornish Unit, Unity and Woolaway types. PRC Homes Ltd has over 40 more repair systems in the pipeline, and I therefore look forward to further approvals, covering more house types, in the near future.
