asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many doctors with specialist qualifications are in post in each health board area for the treatment of geriatric patients.

The number of consultants engaged wholly in geriatric medicine in Scotland as at 30 September 1985 is set out below. (Whole-time equivalent numbers are given in brackets). Geriatric patients are also treated by consultants in many other specialties.
