asked the Paymaster General what are the total numbers of unfilled job vacancies currently recorded at (a) all jobcentres and (b) the Leicester jobcentre; of those vacancies, how many have remained unfilled for (i) six months and (ii) 12 months; and if he will make a statement.

On 2 May 1986 there were 178,801 unfilled vacancies at jobcentres in Great Britain, and 1,061 unfilled vacancies at the Leicester jobcentre. Analysis of the length of time vacancies remain unfilled is not available in the form requested.
