Mr. Pike

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will list in the Official Report the number of patients on waiting lists for (a) urgent treatment and (b) non-urgent treatment on a regional health authority basis for 1979 and each subsequent year, respectively;

(2) if he will list in the Official Report the average waiting time for (a) urgent treatment and (b) non-urgent treatment for each regional health authority for 1979 and each subsequent year, respectively.

Mr. Hickmet

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list those hospitals which have reduced their waiting lists most in the last three years; and if he will make a statement about Scunthorpe general hospital's performance in this regard.

[pursuant to his reply, 3 June 1986, c. 533–36]: I regret that the percentage decreases in waiting lists given in column 3 of table 1 were incorrect. The amended figures are given in the table.
