§ Mr. Ridley[pursuant to his reply, 12 June 1986]: More than 450 responses were received and a list of the main respondents was placed in the Library on 30 October 1985. The responses varied widely, and it would be very difficult to produce a meaningful and representative analysis. Respondents are of course free to make their views public if they wish.
