§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he will place in the Library copies of the agreement reached between Her Majesty's Government and the Commission of the European Community on the safeguarding of the dual-purpose military-civil nuclear reprocessing facilities at Sellafield in accordance with the Euratom treaty.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerNo. It is not the custom within Euratom to publish details of the inspection arrangements for any nuclear facility in the Community. The agreement on the safeguards inspection regime at Sellafield was recorded in a series of informal working documents; the main elements were set out in the answer given to a question from my hon. Friend the Member for Penrith and The Border (Mr. Maclean) on 4 June at columns594–95.
