§ 45. Mr. Ottawayasked the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if, in the light of the decision that financial aid under article 19 of the Agricultural Structures Regulation of March 1985, payable to farmers in designated environmentally sensitive areas, should not be subject to reimbursement from common agricultural policy funds, he has any plans to put forward proposals for a Community-funded successor scheme; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. JoplingThe European Commission has now put forward proposals for reimbursement from Community funds for expenditure in sensitive areas subject to certain conditions. These proposals will be put to the Council of Agriculture Ministers in due course.
