asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what information he has on the production and employment trends in the United Kingdom printing industry; and if he will make a statement.

[pursuant to his reply, 3 June 1986, c. 406]: The production and employment figures for the printing and publishing industries — group 475 of the Standard Industrial Classification, 1980—are as follows:

I am pleased to note that the industry is sharing in the recovery in output shown by United Kingdom industry in recent years.
