§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will refer the proposed takeover of Wedgwood by the London International Group to the Director General of Fair Trading for advice as to reference to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.
§ Mr. HowardThe proposed takeover by the London International Group of Josiah Wedgwood and Son Ltd is currently being considered by the Director General of Fair Trading. My right hon. Friend will make his decision on whether the proposal should be referred to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission for further investigation in the light of advice from the Director General.
