Service pay bed, including all relevant overheads (a) nationally and (b) in the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Health Authority.

Mr. Hayhoe

I regret that this information is not available in the form requested. Charges for National Health Service pay beds are set by reference to costs specific to classes of hospitals in which there are authorised pay beds. Nationally costs (and therefore charges) range from £54 to £256 per day according to the class of hospital. Five of the eight classes of hospital are represented in the Yorkshire region with charges—set at national rates—ranging from £54 to £133. In fact the range of costs at the specific classes of hospitals authorised to treat patients in Yorkshire is lower than the national average for those classes, ranging from £50 to £120.
