HL Deb 30 July 1986 vol 479 c976WA
Lord Zouche of Haryngworth

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, as envisaged in paragraph 5.12 of the White Paper Building Businesses Not Barriers (Cmnd. 9794), they will announce their conclusions on the report of the Working Party which examined the operation of the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) Regulations 1984.

Lord Elton

My department is today publishing a consultation paper proposing changes in the Control of Advertisements Regulations. The paper includes a proposal for stricter limitations on the size, and in some circumstances the number, of estate agent's boards which may be displayed on residential property. A similar consultation paper is being published by my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Wales, where the control of Advertisements Regulations also apply. Copies of the consultation paper and of the Working Party's report are being placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
