Mr. Evennett

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list those centres which are currently involved in the Medical Research Council tests involving vitamin supplementation of mothers at risk of having spina bifida children.

Mr. Walden

I understand that the following centres are participating in the Medical Research Council's randomised clinical trial of folic acid and other vitamin supplementation in the prevention of neural tube defects.
