HC Deb 21 July 1986 vol 102 c37W
Mr. Squire

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will seek to amend the law relating to signs which may be displayed in public houses to prevent discrimination against travelling people.

Mr. Waddington

Under the Race Relations Act 1976 it is unlawful to publish an advertisment or notice which indicates an intention to discriminate on grounds of colour, race, nationality or ethnic or national origins. We have no plans to extend these provisions to cover other forms of discrimination.
