HC Deb 21 July 1986 vol 102 cc31-2W
Mr. Greenway

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what information he has as to which London boroughs have established official police liaison committees; at what estimated cost; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Giles Shaw

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, who has responsibility for establishing consultative arrangements throughout the Metropolitan police district, that community/police consultative groups have been established in 35 of the 40 London boroughs. The cost involved in running these groups is met from the Metropolitan police fund and is estimated for the current financial year at £327,000.

The following boroughs have consultative groups:

  • Barking and Dagenham
  • Barnet
  • Bexley
  • Brent
  • Bromley
  • Broxbourne
  • Croydon
  • Ealing
  • Elmbridge
  • Enfield
  • Epping
  • Epsom
  • Greenwich
  • Hammersmith and Fulham
  • Haringey
  • Harrow
  • Havering
  • Hertsmere
  • Hillingdon
  • Hounslow
  • Islington
  • Kensington and Chelsea
  • Kingston-upon-Thames
  • Lambeth
  • Lewisham
  • Merton
  • Redbridge
  • Reigate and Banstead
  • Richmond-upon-Thames
  • Spelthorne
  • Sutton
  • Tower Hamlets
  • Waltham Forest
