§ Mr. Giles Shaw[pursuant to his reply, 26 June, c. 289–90]: I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the proportion of total Metropolitan police expenditure spent on public order equipment and training for public order duties in the financial year 1985–86 was 0.1 per cent. and 0.3 per cent. respectively.
