Whether they agree that a statement should be issued by the European Council outlining the 448WA principles of the human rights policies of the European Community and its member states and, if so, whether it is their intention that such a statement be issued under the British Presidency.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Young)The European Council has agreed that a statement should be issued and that Foreign Ministers should pursue the matter. It is our expectation that this will be concluded in the British Presidency.
