HC Deb 07 July 1986 vol 101 c17W
Mr. Janner

asked the Attorney-General what was the shortest and what was the longest time between issuing a summons in a claim for damages in the High Court and the hearing of that claim at the latest year for which figures are available.

The Attorney-General

Figures are not available in this precise form. However, information collected on a sample basis during 1985 for personal injury cases indicated that the shortest time between issue of a writ and start of a hearing in the High Court was approximately seven weeks, and the longest approximately 10 years.
