asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will estimate the numbers of British overseas citizens broken down by country of residence.

I refer the hon. Member to the reply that my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Home Department gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Southend, East (Mr. Taylor) on 16 May in column 575. It is not possible to provide a breakdown of British overseas citizens by country of residence.
