asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give the figures for European Community (a) sea-borne and (b) ship-borne trade for each 5 years from 1960–1985, and for each year from 1980–85.

The following table gives the figures currently available. They refer to international sea-borne traffic of all countries which were members of the European Community at 31st December 1985. Definitions and coverage of such statistics vary between countries. There are no separate figures for ship-borne and sea-borne trade.
