HL Deb 30 January 1986 vol 470 c883WA
Lord Henderson of Brompton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend to seek the renewal of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984.

Lord Glenarthur

A draft order was laid today under Section 14(10) of the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act 1984. If the draft order is approved by Parliament, the Act will continue in force for a further 12 months. My right honourable friend the Home Secretary has received Sir Cyril Philips' report on the operation of the Act in 1985 and copies of both the report and his response to it have been placed in the Library and in the Printed Paper Office.
