§ Sir Eldon Griffithsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what response he has made to the police negotiating board's request of 30 November 1985 that police officers serving in the Scottish outer islands should not be subject to income tax on the travel warrants they receive each year for travel to and from the mainland.
§ Mr. MooreI replied to the chairman of the police negotiating board's letter on 14 December 1985 explaining why a taxable benefit arises and why in the Government's view it would not be appropriate to exempt these warrants from income tax.
