§ Mr. Ashdownasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what steps he has taken to seek to relieve ICL plc of the United States re-export licence requirement imposed on that company's exports of computers from the United Kingdom by the United States Government in 1982.
§ Mr. PattieICL raised various points arising from the extra-territorial nature of United States export controls with officials of this Department in 1982. United Kingdom officials took these up with the United States authorities as appropriate.
