HC Deb 26 February 1986 vol 92 c583W
21. Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will allocate additional resources to the Scottish Development Agency; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Allan Stewart

The agency's gross provision across its range of functions for 1986–87 is expected to be in the region of £136 million which is more than £8 million in excess of its equivalent provision for 1985–86 and £18 million higher than the agency spent in 1984–85. This is a sizeable budget and one which reflects the Government's commitment to the agency's tasks of assisting economic development and evironmental improvement in Scotland.
