§ Sir Gerard Vaughanasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the commissioner of police for the Thames Valley as to how many uniformed police were employed in Reading in 1978 and the latest year for which figures are available.
§ Mr. Giles ShawI understand from the chief constable that the total strength of Reading division in the Thames Valley police, including both uniformed officers and CID, was 464 on 31 December 1985, compared with 362 on 31 December 1978.
