HL Deb 26 February 1986 vol 471 c1154WA
Lord Inglewood

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will organise an architectural competition with appropriate prizes for the design of a police station particularly where such parts as the front office, counter, ground level windows, waiting rooms and interview rooms come into contact with the public.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Home Office (Lord Glenarthur)

No, because all local authorities and police forces in England and Wales have already been issued with an advisory memorandum,The Planning of Police Buildings, and a design guide.
