asked the Secretary of State for Transport what are the expected dates of completion by the contractors and for opening of the remaining sections of the M25 either side of the M1 interchange.

The contract completion dates for the four remaining contracts are:

  • Michlefield Green-A41-Bedmond Road: 5 October 1986
  • Bedmond Road-M1/A405 Interchange: 21 September 1986
  • A405-A6 (The Bell): 2 November 1986
  • A6 (The Bell)-A1 (South Mimms): 26 October 1986

There is a degree of interdependence between the contracts. They will be opened as soon as practicable after completion.
