§ Mr. Kirkwoodasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he has any plans to privatise the Forestry Commission; and if he will make a statement;
(2) if he will make a statement on any review presently being considered to amend Her Majesty's Goverment's policy of land disposals by the Forestry Commission.
§ Mr. John MacKayI refer the hon. Member to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Member for Ayr (Mr. Younger) on 8 November 1984 setting out the Government's policy on disposals by the Forestry Commission. As in all other areas of Government activity policy is kept under regular review.
§ Mr. Kirkwoodasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has had a report from the Forestry Commission recommending disposal of the Commission's assets to private investors.
§ Mr. John MacKayMy right hon. and learned Friend has received no such recommendation from the Forestry Commission.
