asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of treatment costs in the general dental services was accounted for by the provision of dentures in the years 1956, 1964, 1974 and 1984.

The proportion of the cost of the general dental service in England and Wales accounted for by the provision of dentures in the years requested is as follows:

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his best estimate of the costs of allowing full exemption from dental charges for each of the following groups: (a) retirement pensioners, (b) recipients of invalidity pensions and (c) recipients of student grants.
