§ Mr. Nicholas EdwardsThe Government welcome the Commission's initiative in taking a fresh look at support measures in the beef sector, but considerable discussion will be required before any final decisions are agreed.
Some of the measures proposed appear at first sight to discriminate against the United Kingdom, but we will make every effort to ensure that the interests of United Kingdom producers are fully taken into account.
