Mr. Tony Lloyd

asked the Paymaster General (1) what information he has as to the percentage of the adult employed labour force earning below (i) £72.53, (ii) £77 and (iii) £102.40 per week;

(2) what information he has as to the percentage of the adult male employed labour force earning below (i) £72.53, (ii) £77 and (iii) £102.40 per week.

Information is not available relating to the precise values requested. However, details of the percentage of full-time adult employees and of full-time adult male employees with gross weekly earnings below stated amounts at regular £5 and £10 intervals, including £70, £75, £80, £110, are published in respect of April 1985 in table 38 of "New Earnings Survey 1985", part B, a copy of which is available in the Library.

Information on the level of gross weekly earnings exceeded by 90 per cent. of full-time adult employees and of full-time adult male employees in April 1985 is published in table 1 of the report, "New Earnings Survey 1985," part A, a copy of which is available in the Library.
