HC Deb 04 February 1986 vol 91 c127W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Transport why he does not intend to issue observations on the petition presented on 25 January 1985 by the hon. Member for Brent, South relating to Marylebone station.

Mr. David Mitchell

Because, as the hon. Member knows, the period for submitting objections to the London Regional Passengers' Committee had already been extended; and in any closure proposal where there are objections, my right hon. Friend is under a statutory duty to consider all relevant factors before reaching a decision. Meanwhile, it would of course be wrong for him to take any view of the merits of the case.
