HC Deb 04 February 1986 vol 91 c127W
Mr. Sims

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if, upon disqualification, a driver's record of conviction is expunged at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre.

Mr. Michael Spicer

No, but when a licence is issued after a period of disqualification, endorsements which led to disqualification under the penalty points scheme are not shown on the licence or retained in the computer record. Details of disqualification itself and certain other endorsements for more serious offences remain (for four or 11 years).
