Mr. Terry Fields

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the current bed capacity at the Royal Liverpool teaching hospital;

(2) what information he has about partial or total ward closures at the Royal Liverpool teaching hospital;

(3) how many patients have been turned away from the Royal Liverpool teaching hospital through lack of beds or medical staff to deal with potential inpatients in the last six months and 12 months; what is the establishment of doctor, nursing and ancillary posts; if any vacancies are current; and if he will make a statement.
