HC Deb 03 February 1986 vol 91 cc40-1W
19. Mr. Chapman

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has as to the arrangements which will be made in 1986–87 for concessionary fares for the elderly and disabled in London.

Mr. Ridley

I understand that the London boroughs have agreed to continue with the existing arrangements for concessionary travel on British Rail and London Regional Transport services in 1986–87 without resort to the statutory reserve scheme. This shows that, despite much publicity to the contrary, the boroughs without the GLC are quite capable of reaching sensible agreements among themselves which we greatly welcome.
