§ Mr. Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) if he will alter the practice under which the Nature Conservancy Council is consulted only if planting of trees is proposed on a national nature reserve or a site of special interest;
(2) if he will alter the practice under which the Countryside Commission is consulted only if the planting of trees is proposed on a national scenic area.
§ Mr. John MacKayThe Forestry Commission's procedures for consulting the Nature Conservancy Council and the Countryside Commission for Scotland on forestry proposals are based on mutually agreed arrangements. These are kept under review and adjustments made from time to time.
